As part of my degree in Environmental Science I studied the level of air pollution in ten boroughs in London during a twelve month period. Of particular interest was the air pollution around schools and how this varied monthly, weekly and intra-day. With the data gathered I commissioned a project with the use of a government grant to programme the correlation between the different contributors of pollution, such as cars, buses, trains, plane paths and HGV routes.
The programme was successful and shows how each of these contributors directly impacts the air quality at schools.
The data could now be used to predict the air quality at other schools around the UK or for streets in the neighbouring residences.
